MBNA Racing Team 2007/2008

General Overview:

The MBNA racing team is designed for people who want to focus on training and perhaps racing as well as ski technique.  Racing is by no means mandatory to participate in the program, however, our focus will lean more towards training methods and techniques used in racing.  This program is intended to have a coaching environment, rather than the instructive format of the current Masters program.  It is aimed at those who have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of skiing through participation in the MBNA Masters class or a similar knowledge base.  The goal is to provide more individual coaching for skiers.  Participants are free to show up as often as they like.

Program Details:

We will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4pm.  During mid-winter when the days are short it may be a good idea to bring a headlamp.  No weekend practices, although if we don't go to a race we may do a time trial or something. We will most likely go to 8-10 races, depending on interest and the race schedule.  We will end our season in mid March.  A full calendar of practices and races will be established after the first few weeks of practice.  Practices will start as soon as we can ski.

Generally one of the weekday practices will consist of intensity training while the other will focus more on technique.  The non-race weekends will be flexible and based on what is needed at the time for each skier.

Training programs are available from an outside source for an additional fee.

Participation is open to any MBNA member 18 years and older.  We will limit it to 16 skiers so as to maximize coaching interaction.

The price for the program for the entire season is $300; however this can be negotiated based on a skiers schedule/participation in the program.
