Lessons & ClinicsThis page covers 2-4 day lessons for beginning skiers or for those who may want an introduction to a new technique. For those who may be interested in a more intensive program please see our Kid Ski Programs, Junior Program or Master Program. Introduction to Skating Technique for KidsIf your child already knows how to cross-country ski and is ready to try skating, this class will get him or her started. Participants should be able to ski several kilometers comfortably. Skate equipment is needed for the best experience. Registration deadline January18th at 5pm.
Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing - Traditional Track TechniqueIf you have been wondering how to get started cross-country skiing, this class is for you. Learn the basics of track technique, handling your skis, what to wear and where to ski near Laramie. Don’t spend this winter with cabin fever when you could be out enjoying a new sport. Learn the basics on easy terrain only ten minutes from town. Registration deadline November 15th at 5pm.
Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing - Uphill and Downhill BasicsIf you are still wondering how to get down steeper hills and around corners without using your cheeks as brakes, this class will give you the skills you need. Step turns, snowplow, and traversing up and down will all be practiced on easy terrain. Learn the basics or tune up your rusty skills. Geared toward the new skier. Registration deadline November 15th at 5pm.p
Beginning Skiing for AdultsSpend this winter outdoors learning to cross-country ski. This class will cover all the basic techniques of cross-country touring to get you into the mountains in Laramie’s longest season. The classroom session will provide information on equipment, clothing, waxing and where to ski. Don’t miss another year without trying cross-country skiing – it’s the best exercise you can get, and without the pounding of running! Registration deadline January 10th at 5pm.
Introduction to Skating TechniquesPick up your pace with this great cross-country technique. Take this class if you have mastered the trails but are ready to go faster. Learn basic V1, V2, and V2 alternate strides to get you up and down the hills with style and speed. Participants should have cross-country experience but don’t need skate or race experience. Skate equipment is strongly recommended for this class. Registration deadline January 10th at 5pm.
